Stockholm Agreement regulations

NAOS offers owners her well-established and experienced services to assist them in seeking the most practical and economic solutions for compliance with both SOLAS and Stockholm Agreement regulations.

The terms of compliance with the international rules for safety at sea (SOLAS) will run out in the next few years. It is therefore compulsory for owners to have the stability of their existing vessels verified, and where needed, adopt the necessary measures to redress problems.

In order to meet this challenge, NAOS srl Ship and Boat Design offers owners her well-established and experienced services to assist them in seeking the most practical and economic solutions for compliance with both SOLAS and Stockholm Agreement regulations.

The following two complementary services are offered by NAOS:

  • A first stage Stability Analysis that complies with the new regulations would be produced and documented by NAOS in the required booklet forms. This procedure would allow the designer to evaluate if modifications for a given vessel can be avoided, or whether substantial measures must be applied (Such as, movable or fixed bulkheads) to improve her stability characteristics in damage condition.
  • Where required, a set of designs and construction drawings that take previous calculations into consideration would be developed by NAOS for the modification of the vessel.

NAOS guarantees a high quality service specifically designed to minimise owners’ costs, with special attention being paid to avoid negative effects on the modified vessel. The terms for compliance set by SOLAS and the Stockholm Agreement differ in relation with the given age of a vessel, her stability characteristics, and the number of passengers. On board.
